SUMMARY:Continuing the Mission – Locating Women Marines Interred
DESCRIPTION:Join members of the AZ-1 Roadrunners Woman Marine Chapter to conduct a cemetery sweep at the National Memorial Cemetery in preparation for their 6th Annual Operation Rose Garden in February 2026. Background: AZ-1 Roadrunners has been honoring all Women Marine trailblazers interred at the National Memorial Cemetery by laying one long stem red rose on their graves. The cemetery historically has not tracked Women Marines\, therefore a few years ago Women Marines from AZ-1 Roadrunners took matters into their own hands. AZ-1 Women canvassed over 78\,000 graves and found 150+ Women Marines interred. It is important our Marines are honored and remembered. As you well know\, this is a very large cemetery and ‘All Hands-on Deck’ is appreciated. So\, if you would like to get some steps in on a Saturday morning\, please join us to ensure our list of 151 Woman Marines is not missing anyone. Refreshments will be provided. Date: Dec 6\, 2025 @ 9am Location: National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona\, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd\, Phoenix\, AZ 85024 We will meet at the assembly area across from the public information building. Hope to see you there.\n\n\n\n
